Galway Bilingual Business Award is now open for nominations <\/strong><\/p>\n

from businesses and organisations based in Galway City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Galway Businesses and organisation were well represented at the press event in the Eyre Square Centre \"\"when, the Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Pearce Flannery launched Gradam Sheosaimh U\u00ed \u00d3gartaigh for 2018. The Gradam is now officially open for nominations until Friday the 23rd<\/sup> of February. At the press event, Gaillimh le Gaeilge also launched their redesigned website (www.gleg.ie<\/a>) developed by Armour, to coincide with Gradam 2018. \u00a0B\u2019iad an Roinn Cult\u00fair, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta a chur maoini\u00fa speisialta ar f\u00e1il do Ghaillimh le Gaeilge don dearadh nua ar an su\u00edomh gr\u00e9as\u00e1in.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the press event the Mayor welcomed all of the Gradam sponsors for the coming year and said: \u201cThe success of the Gradam is not only reliant on those who organise it, but also on the valuable support and commitment of its sponsors\u2026The sea change that is underway here in Galway, City of Culture 2020 is immense and driven by organisations such as Gaillimh le Gaeilge. We come from a tradition of talkers, of sean-n\u00f3s singers and storytellers and all of that was undertaken through the medium of the Irish language. It was, and is, an intrinsic part of our identity, of our culture and of our understanding of life and our sense of self. And the fact that in Galway here especially, the resurgence, the respect and the commitment to the Irish language and to re-finding our own identity and our own \"\"roots through the language is an immense achievement,\u00a0 but it is also something that we can all be justifiably proud of and Gaillimh le Gaeilge lead that charge.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
